On April 2, 2025, an event was held at the Mental Health Center of ONMedU, organized by teachers and members of the SSS of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Members of the student government and students of the medical, dentistry, and pharmaceutical faculties were invited. The meeting was attended by interns and graduate students in the specialty “Psychology”.
ONMedU graduate Oleksandr Nagovitsyn made meaningful presentations:
“Medical care during the Mariupol operation – an example of emotional resilience” and “Physical and psychological rehabilitation – a project of the rehabilitation center of the D.OK clinic”.
The head of the student council, a 4th year student of the medical faculty, Sofia Matyushenko, presented statistics on socially vulnerable groups of the student community, according to which, among the students of the 1st-6th years of the medical, dental, pharmaceutical and international faculties:
* 96 – IDPs
* 47 – persons recognized as participants in hostilities and their children
* 20 – disabled children and persons with disabilities of groups I-III
* 2 – persons affected by the Chernobyl disaster
* 7 – children of the deceased, deceased (those who went missing) participants in the Revolution of Dignity, participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of the war or defenders of Ukraine, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”
* 17 – orphans, children deprived of parental care.
An anonymous survey of students of the institution regarding their belonging to socially and mentally vulnerable groups lasted for two weeks. The analysis was presented by the head of the SSS of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy, a 3rd year student of the Medical Faculty, Kristina Pelivan. She noted how important it is to always be close to people, even if you do not know about their status.
As part of the “School of Emotional Resilience”, 2nd year medical students prepared reports-presentations based on the results of statistics and a survey among ONMedU students and offered to undergo trainings:
“Emotional Burnout in Medical Students: Risk Factors and Prevention” Orlovska Lina, MF-204.
“Dependence of the Burnout Level on the Type of Temperament and Personal Characteristics of Students” Pylypenko Dmytro, MF-207.
A master class on tactical medicine was held by a special guest, a military medic, a graduate of ONMedU Oleksandr Nagovitsyn. Each of those present had the opportunity to practice the skills of stopping bleeding using a tourniquet and master the skills of evacuation measures.
The 302nd group of the medical faculty, invited to participate in the event, together with the curator, assistant of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy Fuchedzhi Vesna, approved a plan of activities for educational work. The meeting at the site of the Mental Health Center has ended.
The coordinator of the Mental Health Center, Associate Professor Chernova Tetyana Mykhailivna, announced the next meetings at the educational and scientific site. The head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Professor Oprya Yevhen Vasilyovych, emphasized the relevance of the work of the “School of Emotional Resilience”.
