Odessa National Medical University is intensifying the vaccination of teaching and student groups. This issue was discussed at a meeting of the Academic Council of ONMedU chaired by the Rector, Academician Valerii Zaporozhan.
As of October 7, 87.1% of university employees were vaccinated, including 93.3% of research and teaching staff. Of the total number of employees, 2.1% have contraindications to vaccination, another 10.8% have already been ill with Covid-19 and have antibodies. The vaccination rate among educators is 87%.
According to the chairman of the Medical Council, Professor Anatoliy Son, vaccination of employees and students is necessary to continue the work of the university in case of deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the city.
“Taking care of the health of our colleagues and students, we have set up free vaccination points and urge everyone who has not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible. In this way, we will ensure continuous education and, most importantly, preserve health and life, “said the rector, adding that the university administration has created comfortable and safe conditions for vaccination of all comers.
