The AntiCancer Lectorium event dedicated to Cancer Day is over!

The two-day event was held in the format of Key-note lectures – speakers presented various areas and disciplines related to the study of oncology.

The well-known Zoom was chosen as the platform for the event – it was in this application that the organizers found the necessary functionality to broadcast the Lecture Hall in several languages ​​at the same time, including English. Microsoft Teams worked as a backup method of communication.

After the opening of the works, according to the trend of the holiday, the report was made by Doctor of Science, Professor Olga Yushkovska, who noted the features and importance of maintaining quality of life in women who underwent surgery for breast cancer. The next speaker was a doctor of the highest category, Candidate of Medical Sciences Olexandr Potapchuk. His report demonstrating his experience in diagnosing nodular goiter and the role of iodine deficiency in thyroid pathology was very informative, and the acquired skills will help our future doctors to navigate this pathology and conduct all necessary diagnostic procedures in a timely manner.

Head of the Department of Pathophysiology, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ruslan Sergeevich Vastyanov and Candidate of Medical Sciences Olena Smetyuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Immunology, Genetics and Medical Biology, updated information on the pathogenetic aspects of the oncological process taking into account the results of modern research in their disciplines – pathophysiology and medical genetics. In cooperation, even global issues such as cancer can be overcome.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Natalia Rozhkovska was unsurpassed in her work – with a report on the prevention and early diagnosis of cervical cancer. The latest information from the regulatory documents on these important aspects of the integrated struggle to preserve women’s health was provided and explained to the students.

Candidate of Medical Sciences, urologist of the highest category Victoria Lysenko did, it seems, impossible – for the time allotted by the rules available and very interesting told about the principles of early diagnosis of prostate cancer, shared experiences from their own practice.

Last, but not the least, were the reports of the emergency specialist Ivan Viktorovich Zhuravlyov and the chemotherapist, chief regional freelance specialist Yevhen Petrovich Moskvichov. Both presentations left the audience with fertile ground for reflection and future research.

The event was a great experience for the Council of the Society of Young Scientists and all those who wished to join the event.
