At the department of disaster medicine and military medicine of ONMedU, a meeting of higher education seekers with military men of the 3rd separate assault brigade took place.
The guests got acquainted with the classrooms and offices of the department, they were shown the deployed point of the medical battalion. They learned how, with the help of special technologies and the latest simulation equipment, the applicants gain knowledge and practice special skills, and were pleasantly surprised by the level of their training.
At the meeting, urgent issues were raised: the training of specialists who will save the health of the wounded, the readiness of society for the difficult demands of today. A separate topic is medical care for soldiers who will return after the war, because many of them will have problems related to mental disorders after everything they experienced during hostilities.
The military men talked about their combat experience, injuries, overcoming difficulties thanks to the professionalism of military medics and returning to their comrades.
According to the assistant of the department Oleksandr Tretyak, it is very important that future doctors heard “first hand” about how military personnel defend our land, how military doctors help them overcome the manifestations of combat stress, provide assistance in the red zone, the shelter zone, in in the green zone, during evacuation, and considered many other issues, which so far have only been introduced in theory.
