Lina Kostenko’s Birthday!

The staff of the Department of Social Sciences wishes everyone good health and congratulates the famous Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko on her birthday.

The legendary poet, novelist and public figure Lina Kostenko was born on March 19, 1930.

Lina Kostenko is the author of more than 15 poetry collections (“Sails”, “Journeys of the Heart”, “Above the Banks of the Eternal River”, “Garden of Non-melting Sculptures”, “Heraclitus River” and others). For the historical novel in poetry “Marusya Churai” she was awarded the State Prize named after T.G. Shevchenko. Lina Kostenko is also a laureate of Elena Teliga Prize, Antonovich and Petrarch Prizes, she was awarded the Honorable Award of the President of Ukraine and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree.
