At the initiative of the Department of Health of Odesa Regional Military Administration, together with Odesa National Medical University, a strategy was developed for the communication of practicing doctors with 6th-year students and interns, as well as solving the problem of staff shortages and improving the professionalism of future graduates.
In order to improve the theoretical and practical skills of students and interns of the medical university, training was held in the format of operative treatment of patients of the Baltic community on the basis of the “Baltic Multidisciplinary Hospital” of Baltic City Council together with specialized experts of the Department of Health Care of the ORMA.
The interns had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of the main hospital, the reperfusion center, operating units, new methods of minimally invasive surgery and assisted during operative treatment the experts of the Department – the head of the department of minimally invasive surgery Petar Pustovoit, surgeon Roman Vododiuk and anesthesiologist Oleksandr Budniuk.
In turn, students of the 6th year had the opportunity to orientate themselves in the choice of future specialization, familiarize themselves with the peculiarities of the work of doctors in rural areas and with the existing offers of the community.
Employed interns receive financial and social assistance (a new car for the outpatient doctor, financial assistance for a mother and child, new housing for doctors, a social package for young doctors, etc.)
