Trainings on the Basic Emergency Care (BEC) course of a joint project with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Emergency Medicine have been completed. The course is registered as a BPR event. This basic course has been developed for medical professionals of all levels who provide emergency medical care at the hospital and pre-hospital stages. The BEC course helps save many lives in emergency situations where resources are scarce and time is of the essence.
46 doctors, paramedics and nurses were trained. Of them, 12 are employees of our University. All the trainees successfully completed their training and received international certificates. 21 persons underwent additional training to obtain instructor status and received this status. They will now be able to teach this course to their colleagues.
The lecturers of the department of simulation medical technologies gladly joined the team of international trainers of the WHO from the BEC course and took over the training of Ukrainian doctors. Dmytro Karakonstantyn received the status of master instructor of the BEC course, and we received the right to conduct these courses independently under his leadership. Vyacheslav Onyschenko received the status of an instructor of the BEC course.
This is already the second BEC course for doctors from all over the country, which was held at the ONMedU base under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and WHO, under the leadership of the assistant of the department of simulation medical technologies Dmytro Karakonstantyn and with the participation of international master trainers Marin Vozian (Moldova) and Elena Volovik (Ukraine).
