Criminal Proceedings were Started to Protect Odessa Medical University

According to the facts of non-execution of the court decision as to payment of wages to the university employees, criminal proceedings have been initiated by the police.
Recently, an action was organized in front of the building of the State Treasury of Odessa region, with the participation of the teaching staff and students of Odessa Medical University, who are indignant at the continued failure to get their wages and scholarships.
Police did not allow violations of the order and took measures to ensure that employees of the executive body were able to get into the building and continue their work.
At the same time, the Portofrankivsky branch of Odessa police began criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: 382 (non-execution of court decision) and 175 (non-payment of wages, scholarships, pensions or other statutory payments).
According to the statement of the a.i. rector of the medical university, these proceedings are connected with the fact that, despite the court decision requiring the said body to carry out the financial expenses of the university on the basis of payment documents signed by the applicant, the court decision has not been executed, and from January 2019 to date, the payment of salaries and scholarships hasn’t been done.
The pre-trial investigation is underway. Within this framework, the police take measures to comprehensively, objectively and impartially examine the circumstances of the event, establish the persons involved in the offense and bring them to justice.
