We announce with a sense of great joy that by order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 858 dated September 29, 2023, a scholarship of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was awarded to Yurii Ivanovych Bazhora, professor of the Department of Medical Biology and Chemistry of Odesa National Medical University, for outstanding services in the field of higher education.
There are people in our lives about whom we can write a lot, however, it still turns out that not enough is said – they are so great. And we are all incredibly lucky to have the honor (and joy at the same time!) of working together with such People, who are called differently – Elders, Legends, Great… Communicating with them is like a breath of clean, fresh mountain air, after which by the end of the working day you are in a state of creative inspiration!
Such a Person works at Odesa National Medical University – he is an Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize in Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yurii Ivanovych BAZHORA.
The greatness of Yurii Ivanovych is confirmed by the undeniable fact that the department where he works is traditionally called the “Bazhora’s Department”, and it immediately becomes clear to those around him which department it is about. Professor Bazhora’s merits to His Majesty – science and the organization of the educational process in higher medical education institutions of Ukraine are so significant and universally recognized that it makes no sense to list them. We will note only one fact: to be the author/co-author of national textbooks in three huge educational disciplines (“Medical Biology”, “Medical Genetics”, “Clinical Immunology and Allergology”) in the national and English languages for domestic and foreign (English-speaking) students of all medical universities of Ukraine is undoubtedly an unparalleled achievement! In 2007, for the national textbook “Medical Biology” (2nd edition, revised and supplemented), Professor Bazhora was awarded the State Prize in the field of science and technology of Ukraine.
Professor Bazhora is the author of more than 600 scientific and educational publications, including 70 monographs, textbooks and training manuals.
We are extremely happy that the venerable Yurii Ivanovych is still working with us today.
All of us, his colleagues and students, sincerely consider Yurii Ivanovych a Teacher and are infinitely happy that his merits have been duly appreciated by the State.
