World Down Syndrome Day

March 21 is celebrated all over the world as Down Syndrome Day. This date (March 21) was chosen because Down syndrome is associated with three copies of the 21st chromosome (instead of two).

People with Down syndrome work in films, write music and even become successful lawyers.

On this day, the annual international flash mob Lots of Socks takes place. Its goal is to draw public attention to the problems of people with Down syndrome.
