On September 15, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology hosted another event “Discussion Club. Challenging Patient Consultation ”on the topic:“ Family Planning ”with the participation of foreign and Ukrainian students in a hybrid mode: full-time and based on the Microsoft Teams platform!
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has initiated and held regular discussion meetings on obstetrics and gynecology for Ukrainian and foreign students, where students practice communication skills and patient counseling skills under the supervision of experienced doctors in English!
The authorities of the university, TPCITTICEIMEQ and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology have created all the conditions for comfortable communication and exchange of views between university students.
According to the established tradition, the first part of the work process began with an introductory speech by Professor A.H. Volianska, announcement of the agenda and A. Dobrovolskii’s report on”Family Planning: hidden miles”, which reminded participants of the basic principles of family planning activities, thus starting lively discussion, which was joined by all the present.
Students from India, Israel and other countries spoke about the state of the family planning system in their countries, shared the peculiarities of addressing family planning issues and socio-cultural attitudes to unwanted pregnancies. During the discussion, each student had the opportunity to express their views, the results of the discussion came to some interesting conclusions.
Scenarios of encounters between doctors and patients (with the help of ONMedU Standardized Patients) were worked out according to the theme of the event.
The next meeting of the Discussion club is in October.
