The first day of the educational seminar “Creation and development of innovations on the basis of universities” has started in ONMedU

On January 19, 2022, a three-day educational seminar “Creating and developing innovations on the basis of universities” in a mixed format, organized by the International Organization “Israeli-Ukrainian Alliance”, “Yissum” (Technology Transfer Office of the University of Jerusalem) and Odessa National Medical University opened at Odessa National Medical University.

In her welcoming speech, the Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching of ONMedU Valeria Marichereda thanked the Israeli partners for their many years of work, which resulted in the possibility of holding this seminar at the university.

“This is a step forward in the activities of our medical university, whose strategic goal is to become not only an educational but also a research institution, thanks to which the training of doctors for 54 countries, including Israel, will be better. Many thanks to the co-organizers from Israel, I hope for further cooperation,”said Valeria Marichereda.

The purpose of the organizers of the educational seminar is to form an innovative ecosystem at ONMedU and to acquaint all those interested with the best practices of the Yissum technology transfer office; entrepreneurship education and building a multifaceted partnership between the university, business and government agencies.

During the three days, the participants of the seminar will be offered not only theoretical knowledge. They will discuss ways to form an innovative ecosystem at ONMedU, exchange experiences on how to introduce entrepreneurship and commercialization at the university, as well as build a multilateral partnership between ONMedU and Israeli business and government agencies. Discussions will focus on: design thinking needed to create an innovative product, possible business models (business canvas) and mandatory components of technology transfer, legal aspects, intellectual property management, marketing and information management.
