ONMedU: practical training for higher medical education seekers

The internship for higher education seekers of Odesa National Medical University is an integral part of the training of specialists with higher education and the standards of higher education. It is aimed at consolidating the theoretical knowledge obtained by higher education seekers during their studies, acquiring and improving practical skills and abilities in the relevant specialty.

This academic year, after the end of the autumn semester, 3rd-year (nursing), 4th-year (industrial medical practice in hospitals of our city) and 5th-year (outpatient medical practice) students underwent internships. Such types of internships provide applicants with the opportunity to get acquainted with the different links of work of all medical institutions.

Practical training is carried out in two general stages – this is simulation training, where practical skills are practiced on simulators and the practical part directly when working with patients. Regardless of the course of study and type of practice, its final stage is the higher education seeker’s passing of the clinical practical exam (CPE).
