He was only 27… Petro was born on November 22, 1996 in the village of Dobrooleksandrivka, Ovidiopol district, Odesa region. The young man wanted to become a doctor in order to help people. This trait of his character became decisive in his entire future life. In 2016, he graduated from Odesa Medical College, received the profession of a paramedic, but did not stop there and entered ONMedU, which he graduated in 2021 with a degree in “Medicine”, and two years later – an internship in the specialty “Radiology”.
Petro Kyshenko went to war as a volunteer, on February 25, 2022 he joined the ranks of the 122nd TRO brigade and became a reconnaissance machine gunner of the reconnaissance company. From April to August 2023. He held the position of senior combat medic of a mortar battery. From August 2023 to January 2024, he was a paramedic at the medical post of a military unit. From January 2024 to April 28, 2024, he served in the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade as a sanitary instructor. He assisted in the defense of Gostomel in March 2022. He participated in the defense of the hero city of Mykolaiv in April 2022, in the defense of Ochakov in the summer of 2022. He was injured while performing a combat mission, but returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces. He provided evacuation and medical assistance during the Kharkiv campaign in the summer of 2023. In 2024, as part of the 3rd OSH Brigade, he ensured the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Avdiivka, evacuated the wounded with medical assistance and the fallen in the Avdiivka direction.
Petro died on April 28, 2024 in the Svativka direction of the Luhansk region, near the village of Serhiivka, during an attempted assault by the Russians. He ensured effective defense of positions and the evacuation of the wounded. He died while providing medical assistance to a seriously wounded comrade from a 120-mm enemy shell.
In August 2023, he was awarded the “Badge of Honor”. In April 2024 was submitted by the brigade for the award of the Order of Courage, III degree, was to receive the rank of “sergeant”: the decree was issued on April 29…
Petro also graduated from the military department of ONMedU, was to receive the rank of junior lieutenant in May 2024. During his studies, he showed himself to be an active, sociable, diligent student, went in for sports: he represented the university at judo competitions in 2017–2018. And in his free time, he developed in other areas: he was a hookah smoker, worked in the field of car sales, opened his own service station. He planned to do so much after the war: work in his chosen specialty, have a strong, happy family, restore the work of the service station, rebuild and develop our country…
