On April 24, 2024, a meeting of the Academic Council of ONMedU was held under the chairmanship of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Valerii Zaporozhan, at which a number of issues related to improving the efficiency of the institution were discussed.
In order to optimize the structure of the university and attract a wider range of applicants, the head of the Academic Council Valerii Zaporozhan proposed to restructure the Preparatory Department of the International Faculty. “We receive quite a lot of requests from graduating students and their parents with a request to organize a preparatory department for those who wish to study at our university. Therefore, I propose to separate the preparatory department from the international faculty into an independent unit. In this way, we will be able to attract not only foreign students to our university, but also domestic students,” said the head of the Academic Council. The proposal was supported by members of the Academic Council.
Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Denys Davydov reported on “Analysis of readiness of university faculties for state certification of graduates”. According to him, a lot of work has been done to ensure that every applicant for higher education of the university can successfully pass the components of the first and second stages of the unified state qualification exam: integrated test exams “KROK 1”, “KROK 2”, the English language exam for professional direction and OSCE. “Throughout the year, all faculties conduct preparatory activities for taking licensing test exams: consultations of department teachers are organized, collections of booklets are posted on the official website of ONMedU, the educational module for preparing for taking exams “Step” is used on the website of the Testing Center. Starting from October 2023, training of practical skills has been started on the basis of the Innovative Learning and Information Technology Center, as well as on the clinical bases of the departments. The obtained high results of passing the “KROK-1” in the specialty “Dentistry” give hope that the exam performance of students in other specialties will not be worse,” Denys Davydov emphasized. Based on the results of consideration of this issue, it was decided to enter the results of the components of the first and second stages of the unified state qualification exam into the indicators for determining the rating of departments and key performance indicators (KPI) of the heads of departments of ONMedU.
