May 5 — International Midwife Day

Today we honor those who hold the beginning of a new life in their hands. Midwives are a symbol of hope, strength and dedication. In Ukraine, especially in times of challenges and change, the role of midwives is extremely important. Their care, experience and dedication help maintain the health of mothers and children even in the most difficult times.

Midwives not only help during childbirth, but also psychologically support women who are worried about the health of their unborn child. They take care of the mother in the most important and exciting moments, are on duty at night, when it is difficult to predict when their help will be needed. Midwives are always there, ready for any situation, and are responsible for two lives at once — the mother and the baby.

The work of a midwife is not just a profession, but a calling that requires immense responsibility, patience, courage, resilience and the ability not to panic. Every moment and minute in this profession matters, it is important to be able to make decisions quickly and clearly. And also to be sensitive and feel what the patient needs now, to support and reassure. And, of course, a midwife must be a true professional, ready for any surprises and twists, with a huge reserve of knowledge and skills.

Dear midwives, we congratulate you on your professional holiday! May your work bring you not only the pleasure of helping people, but also the recognition, respect and love of those around you. We wish you good health, patience, well-being and happiness! May every day be filled with joy from the fact that you are helping this world become better!

Thank you!
