Modern simulation technologies, as a safety tool in critical care medicine, were the subject of the conference with international participation that took place in Odessa these days.
The event was organized by professors of ONMedU, and it was based on the simulation classes of the university, which, by the way, has 9 of them. The conference was two days long and consisted of the theoretical part and the practical one, that is, master classes. It was them which took part in the simulation classes of ONMedU. Six people were selected from a group of medical practitioners. Each of them was assigned a role: an obstetrician-gynecologist, an anesthesiologist, etc. They had to demonstrate to other participants and trainers-instructors of the master class how to solve real clinical situations. For example, this group had to show its actions during eclampsia, that is cramps in a pregnant woman. In addition to the correct resolution of the situation for the patient, the group had to show the work of the team, the interaction of doctors of different specialties. The actions of the group were recorded by instructors and their colleagues in the next room. After the situation was resolved, they all discussed together what was done correctly, what could be changed, and what should not have been done at all.
In two days, the participants of the master classes worked out more than a dozen scenarios. And they were developed by a team of experts from Kiev, Odessa, Vinnitsa, as well as from Paris. It should be noted that medical practitioners of different specializations from medical institutions of Odessa, Odessa region, as well as other regions of Ukraine, came to the conference. The conference of such format took place for the first time. However, as the organizers say, it’s not the last one. After all, it is planned to make such trainings in the simulation classes of ONMedU for medical practitioners traditional.
