Meeting of the Academic Council of ONMedU on February 23, 2023

A number of important issues of daily life and at the same time strategic development of the university were discussed at the meeting of the Academic Council of ONMedU, held on February 23, under the chairmanship of academician Valerii Zaporozhan. In particular, the Academic Council approved the results of the State certification of graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2023 in specialty 226 “Pharmacy. Industrial Pharmacy” of the correspondence form of education and voted for awarding the qualification of pharmacist in the specialty “Pharmacy” to 65 domestic graduates of the university. A report was heard on the methodical work of the departments of the therapeutic profile, which testified to the improvement of the didactic provision of the educational process, which in turn contributed to the improvement of the quality of the graduates during the final examination attestation.

During the meeting, a list of elective educational components for students of higher education under educational and professional programs : “Medicine”, “Dentistry”, “Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy” of the 2nd (master’s) level of education for the 2023−2024 academic year was approved, which implements the right of students of higher education to an individual academic trajectory of education. The Academic Council supported the development of new educational programs on the basis of ONMedU – an educational and scientific program for the training of third-level higher education candidates (PhD) in the specialty 073 “Management”, field of knowledge 07 “Management and administration” “Management of health care and pharmaceutical business” and the educational and professional program for students of higher education in specialty 227 “Therapy and rehabilitation”.

At the meeting of the Academic Council, it was reported that in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine No. 185 dated 20.02.2023, the Specialized Academic Council D.41.600.01 was opened at ONMedU for the defense of dissertations for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the following specialties: 14.03.05 — pharmacology; 14.03.04 — pathological physiology; 14.02.01 — hygiene and occupational pathology (all medical sciences). Prof.Ya.V. Rozhkovskyi became the head of the new doctoral councili, the deputy chairman is prof. Godlevsky L.S. The board includes both well-known scientists of ONMedU and invited specialists. The opening of the doctoral Specialized Scientific Council at ONMedU once again testified to the recognition of the high level of scientific achievements and authority of the institution as one of the leaders in the training of highly qualified scientific personnel in the field of medicine and is a great incentive for the planning and execution of doctoral theses by young and promising scientists.

The academic council approved several important provisions regulating the educational and scientific process, medical activities of units of ONMedU. The Academic Council also supported the publication of the materials of the 5th International Scientific Conference “Man as Integrity: Traditions and Innovations”, the new edition of the “Odesa Medical Journal” and the educational and methodological manual “Modern emergency care for patients with acute and chronic diseases of the ENT organs and with their complications”. We are sure that all the decisions made at the meeting of the Academic Council will contribute to the further gradual development of the institution and our country.
