Greetings from Honorary Citizen of Odesa Valerii Zaporozhan on City Day

Dear Odessans!

Allow me, as an Honorary Citizen of Odesa, to congratulate you on the birthday of our pearl by the Black Sea — a city with a unique character, rich history and a big heart.

Odesa is not just a point on the map, it is a state of mind, a city that combines a multinational culture, a deep history and an incredible zest for life. In these difficult times for the country, Odesa retains its warmth, strength of spirit and indomitability, continues to inspire, unite and support.

I am proud to have the honor of living here and working at Odessa National Medical University, which was established on September 1, 1900 and is inextricably linked with the fate of the city. It is difficult to imagine Odesa without its famous medical school, which has gained recognition far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Our university is a center of science and education, a source of generations of doctors who have saved and are saving lives in different parts of the world. We are preparing a young generation of doctors who also love Odesa and make it stronger every day.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish each of you peace, health, well-being, family comfort and confidence in the future.

May Odesa always be a city where you want to live, dream and win.

Happy Birthday, Odesa!

Sincerely,
Honorary citizen of Odesa, Rector of ONMedU Academician Valeriy Zaporozhan
