At ONMedU, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary, the first class began with a tribute to the defenders who died in the fight for the Independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We gratefully remembered the graduates and employees of ONMedU who gave their lives for our freedom.
Valeria Рennadiivna Marichereda, First Vice-Rector of Odesa National Medical University, Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
Director of the ONMedU History Museum Iryna Hrabarchuk spoke about the creation of a memorial stand.
After honoring the heroes of the past, the floor was given to the heroes of the present. Panchenko Oleksandr Yevhenovich, Colonel of the Medical Service, Associate Professor of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine of ONMedU, spoke about the work of his department.
The presentation “Prospects for the development of military field surgery in combat conditions” was made by Herasimenko Oleh Serhiyovych. He is the chief surgeon of a military hospital, has been fighting since 2014, after the full-scale invasion he constantly participated in the organization and provision of surgical care in Odesa military hospital, has numerous medals and diplomas from the Verkhovna Rada, was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 3rd degree.
The emotional, powerful report of Beseda Yaroslav Vitaliyovych, captain of the medical service, associate professor of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine of ONMedU, resonated in the hearts.
Memories of the deceased graduate Synenko Vitaliy were shared by his father Synenko Volodymyr Ivanovych – associate professor of the Department of Family Medicine, General Practice and Outpatient Therapy.
The event was moderated by Podkupko Tetyana Leonidivna, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences.
