The mode of university clinics operation for the martial law period

In connection with the full-scale war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the mode of operation of the university clinics of the Odessa National Medical University was changed.

The Center for Reconstructive Medicine (University Clinic) of ONMedU suspended the planned hospitalization of patients (with the exception of cancer patients), if necessary, hospitalization will be carried out in the neurological department (60 beds). The hospital department has been prepared for the reception of war victims: 60 beds of surgical profile, 12 beds in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, 50 beds of therapeutic profile.

On the territory of the ground floor of the Center there are conditions for patients and staff, as well as for medical care for patients in case of bombing of our city (surgical dressing, manipulation room, functional diagnostics rooms, beds, couches, medicines, consumables, water supplies , food, toilets, etc.).

The round-the-clock duty of the strengthened surgical and anesthesiological crews is provided, the operating department is in constant readiness for performance of urgent operative interventions.

The round-the-clock duty of surgical and diagnostic services has been restored at the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of ONMedU. Surgical teams were formed from the staff of the surgical departments of the center, emergency response teams, as well as volunteers – students of Odessa National Medical University.

In the departments of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center, the planned hospitalization was stopped and preparations were made for the mass reception of war victims. 85 surgical beds and 50 ophthalmological beds have been prepared for the reception of victims, and, if necessary, hospitalization will be carried out in gynecological departments (70 beds) and cardiorheumatology building (70 beds).

Departments of the University Clinic and the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of ONMedU are provided with medicines and medical devices for a limited time of work in conditions of military aggression. Thanks to the assistance of the Odesa Regional Blood Transfusion Station, a blood bank was established on the basis of clinics.

The only unresolved issue at the moment is the provision of immunobiological drugs, especially drugs for emergency prevention of tetanus.
