The experience of the Ministry of Health under the leadership of Ulyana Suprun proves that medical reform, which affects only one industry, without affecting the adjacent ones, is doomed. This is stated in the article by Academician Valerii Zaporozhan, the head of the Academic Council of Odessa National Medical University.
In his opinion, the main problem of reform is that the predicted changes in the industry are coordinated neither with the system of the employees training, nor with the medical science. Although science itself is the basis for solving practical health problems. “It would seem that it would be enough to put into practice the achievement of the world medical science, advanced technology, modern equipment and the medical industry will rise from the knees, and people will receive proper medical care. But modern technologies are high-tech and require highly professional personnel, without whom no modern equipment can work and no medical technology is implemented, “Valerii Zaporozhan writes.
Therefore, training should be at the center of any reform, especially medical, because the doctor is “the main active person, the quality of whom depends the state of medicine depends on.” Therefore, in the countries of Europe and the world, the competent training of students is introduced, which implies the presence of a university clinic and simulation centers at each medical university. In Ukraine, Odessa Medical University is the pioneer in this direction. It first bought world-class equipment and returned university clinics, which were transferred to the balance of the city even in Soviet times. “The University Clinic fulfills the three-pronged task: providing pretgraduate and post-graduate training for future doctors and nurses, developing and introducing new technologies and providing highly specialized care to the population. Today, the Ministry of Health, or more precisely, the a.i. Minister Suprun, goes the way of the Soviet “reformers” and wants to destroy the university clinics again, by taking licenses “, – said Valerii Zaporozhan, adding that this is what she is trying to do with the clinics of the ONMedU.
Instead of spreading her positive experience to other medical universities, Ulyana Suprun has been sabotaging the work of a leading institution for more than a year: “Classes of competent training for future physicians, science parks, simulation halls – are equipment and training at Stanford University level. Unfortunately, the previous administration considered it all unnecessary and even harmful. The University and powerful scientific schools have almost been destroyed. ”
