On April 8, 2025, the Center for Reconstructive and Restorative Medicine at Tinistaya, 8 turned into a real magnet for graduates of schools, lyceums, medical colleges and their parents. More than 100 young men and women from Odesa, as well as Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Severodonetsk and other cities of Ukraine, who now live in our city due to the war, visited the Open Doors Day at Odesa National Medical University.
It was not just a meeting – it was a chance to look into their future! The young men and women met with representatives of the administration, deans of faculties, students and teachers. Everyone could feel like part of a large medical family.
Director of the Center for Reconstructive and Restorative Medicine of the University Clinic, Associate Professor of the Department of Healthcare Management of ONMedU Svitlana Busel took the participants to the world of innovations – she showed how modern diagnostic and treatment methods used in the clinic work.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Eduard Buryachkivskyi and Professor Natela Kordzaya spoke about the features of studying at the university, focusing on the new bachelor’s level of education and specialties that meet the challenges of modern medicine.
An important part of the event was a meeting with the executive secretary of the admissions committee Elina Mokriienko. She explained all the nuances of this year’s admissions campaign, answered questions from future students and emphasized: “ONMedU is a university where the student is always in the center of attention.”
The most striking part of the meeting was a tour of the clinic’s modern departments: surgical, neurological, dental and therapeutic. The participants had the opportunity to see everything with their own eyes – from the work process to the technologies used in real practice.
Many of the graduates are not at the Open Doors Day for the first time, and each time this event gives inspiration, new impressions and confidence in choosing a profession.
– I am delighted with what I saw, which exceeded all my expectations, – shared the emotions of Alla Karpenko, a graduate of one of the Odesa lyceums. – I even imagined how I would come to work here one day. The university clinic impressed with the main entrance, cozy hall, and the most modern equipment for treating patients. I am sure that my dream will come true, and I will study at ONMedU. I have dreamed about this since the 8th grade, I paid special attention to biology and chemistry, went to a circle, learned a lot about medicine from the Internet.
Yulia Kozlova, a graduate of lyceum No. 3 in Odesa came to this meeting because she plans to enter ONMedU, she is not even considering other medical institutions, because her friends graduated from this educational institution and told a lot about the studies, the teachers, and the fact that you can get involved in scientific work from the first years. “I know that studying medicine is very difficult, but it will not stop me,” the girl said.
Varya Shvaiko came to Odesa from the small town of Belozersk in Donetsk region.
“Only Odesa and ONMedU!” she is sure. “I am from a small town, and I really liked Odesa, I feel comfortable here. This is the city in which I want to study. I will enter the Dentistry Department.
Nastya Galkevych is going to get a second higher education — psychology — at ONMedU.
— This is an extremely necessary specialty today: I want to help people overcome stress, depression, and difficult psychological conditions that arise in many people because of the war.
All the guests of the University Clinic really enjoyed this meeting, which once again convinced them of the correctness of choosing the profession of a doctor. After all, no matter how circumstances change, no matter what times humanity goes through, it will always and everywhere be the most necessary and important in society.
We wish all graduates to fulfill their dreams!
ONMedU is waiting for you! Come, learn, choose your future today!
