Sessions of the Discussion Club for 2020 are officially closed

At the last meeting, which took place on 16.12.20 online on the university platform Microsoft Teams, participants worked on an extremely relevant topic: “HIV and STI prevention” together with the team of Standardized Patients.

At the beginning of the meeting there was an introductory speech of the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Alla Heorhievna Volianska, who outlined the further direction of the event.
Andrii Dobrovolskii reported on “Current issues in HIV and STI prevention”, together with the members of the Club, highlighting the landmarks of prevention of these global problems.
In order to train and improve the skills of counseling patients to prevent the spread of HIV and STIs, the participants of the event, together with the Standardized Patients, developed clinical scenarios moderated by the present experts (invited expert – Tretiachenko Yu.V.) Among the most active students are the works of Edgar Hoover Derick Joe Vince, Amish Upadhyay, Lakshya Mittal and Gopika Suresh, who prepared another great presentation on the SPIKES protocol on bad news.
4th, 5th and 6th year students of domestic and international faculties were given the opportunity to communicate freely and discuss problems in English.

17 clinical cases with patients
The participants were: 87 students, 3 assistants, 5 associate professors and 7 professors.
Involved cities: Odessa. Dnipro, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Warsaw, Krakow.
