The Department of Simulation Medical Technologies was established in 2014. Today, 16 teachers work at the department, and 11 disciplines are taught. Students of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th years, interns and trainee doctors study with us. In addition, since February 26, 2022, with the support of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, trainings on tactical medical care for the wounded have constantly been held at the department.
Several thousand combatants and policemen, cadets of the military academy, and students of our university have undergone training with us. During 2022, the department became an associate educational partner of the Committee on Emergency Medical Care for Victims of the United States of America.
In January 2023, the department became the official base of the US National Agency for Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and trained 20 instructors for the TSSS (Tactical Aid to Injured Combatants) course.
