«International Staff Week» at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences

From May 27 to May 31, 2024, the International Staff Week was held at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania. Professors and employees of international offices, scientific departments from universities of 16 countries of the world, including Ukraine, took part in the event. Odesa National Medical University was represented at this event by Kateryna Nitochko, associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The “International Staff Week” program was focused on inclusion, equal opportunities, environmental friendliness, digital design of educational services, the role and place of artificial intelligence in modern higher medical education, academic integrity, promoting the development of a socially responsible society. In addition to international teaching experience, opportunities and challenges in the field of development of academic mobility, internationalization of education, a rich program of intramural events included topics dedicated to everyday activities of the university, healthy lifestyle, cultural exchange and communication.

During the tour of the buildings of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, the participants were shown stimulation classes of various degrees of complexity, equipment used in the educational process, classrooms and lecture halls of the faculties, the anatomy museum, and the student library. The participants of “International Staff Week” also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of the city’s largest university clinic – Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kauno klinikos.

Extremely relevant topics, interesting speakers, highly professional approach of the team of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences to the organization of the event, created a friendly, relaxed atmosphere of communication between the participants throughout the week, contributed to fruitful learning and exchange of experience between teachers from different countries of the world. Special thanks to the leadership of Odesa National Medical University for the opportunity to obtain advanced knowledge in the field of modern higher medical education, the implementation of innovative technologies in the educational process, and the improvement of the professional skills of teachers and doctors.
