International Conference “Modern Methods of Treatment in Clinical Oncology”

On March 31, 2018, an international conference “Modern Methods of Treatment in Clinical Oncology» was held in a live television broadcast on the Ukrainian National Television, dedicated primarily to the problems of peritoneal sarcomatosis, cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemoperfusion (HIPEC). The latest advances in the treatment of neglected stages of ovarian and gastrointestinal tract cancer were exchanged by the best specialists from the clinics of Greece and Ukraine. The oncology surgeons of the Department of Surgery №4 with a course of oncology under the direction of Professor Oleksandr Ivanovich Tkachenko presented the experience of the University Hospital of ONMedU. Foreign specialists noted a high level of modern medical care rendered by the Ukrainian doctors.

It is to be recalled that on the initiative of the rector of ONMedU, academician NAMS Valery Mykolayovich Zaporozhan, the clinic specialists have been doing hyperthermic chemoperfusion on the RanD Performer HT apparatus since 2016, being among the first ones in Ukraine. To date, a considerable experience has been accumulated and the clinic continues to help cancer patients whose problems were recognized as incurable years ago.
