Conversation club of ONMedU: the first results

In October 2023, the Department of Social Sciences  started work with the Conversation Club, which was created with the aim of forming the language culture of employees and students of ONMedU.
The appearance of the club is due to the Plan of measures to promote the functioning of the Ukrainian language at ONMedU (Order No. 502-o dated 17.11.2022) and the activities of the University Commission for Monitoring the State of the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as a State Language at ONMedU (Chairman – Associate Professor Olha Sikorska).
During the academic year, the Department of Social Sciences organized events in the form of lectures, talks, discussions, round tables, master classes, etc. The speakers of the club were the employees of the department. The main listeners were students of 1st-2nd years of ONMedU, teachers of other departments, representatives of the leadership.
The topics of the events were aimed at developing the personality of the winners, raising the linguistic and cultural level and aesthetic education. Among the events held were:  lectures-discussions “Women in Ukrainian traditional culture”, “Ukrainian traditional clothes” and “Family traditions of Ukrainians” (associate professor Olena Uvarova), workshops “Modeling the thesaurus of Ukrainian medical terminology” and “Ways of replenishing the medical terminology system” (associate professor Liliya Filyuk), lecture-discussion “Unofficial anthroponymy of Odeshchyna” (assistant professor Antonina Krytska), lecture “Thomas Sydenham and the English medical case during the civil wars” (associate professor Mykola Kulachynskyi), lecture-discussion “Ukrainian Easter traditions” (associate professor Tetyana Podkupko), workshop “Medical communication.
