Traditionally, since 2008, Odessa has held an annual scientific and practical conference dedicated to the memory of Academician B. Ya. Reznik. And every year, regardless of the circumstances (pandemic, wartime, blackout period), the conference continues to gather a large number of listeners from all over Ukraine (pediatricians, family doctors, doctors of related specialties, such as neonatologists, children’s otolaryngologists, children’s surgeons, pulmonologists, nephrologists , endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, cardiologists). Leading pediatricians from all higher medical institutions of Ukraine and foreign guests always participate in the conference.
For the fifteenth time, on April 27-29, 2023, a scientific and practical conference with international participation “The latest technologies in pediatric science, practice, family medicine and education” was held, dedicated to the memory of Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine B.Ya. Reznik
As always, Odesa National Medical University acted as the host of the conference, the program preparation and the conference were carried out by the Department of Pediatrics No. 1 in close coordination with the Department of Health Protection of the Odesa Regional State Administration and the Department of Health Protection of the Odesa City Council.
This year, more than 1,000 listeners registered for the conference. Reports were given by such outstanding specialists as member-cor. of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine M. L. Aryaev, member-cor. of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine O. P. Volosovets, professors: O. Yu. Belousova, T. O. Kryuchko, G. O. Lezhenko, Yu. V. Marushko, M.G. Melnychenko, S. L. Nyankovskyi, L. S. Ovcharenko, V. I. Pokhilko, T. V. Sorokman, O. O. Starets, Yu.P. Kharchenko, OS Yablon and others.
Mykola Leonidovych Aryaev had the honor of opening the scientific-practical conference with international participation “Latest technologies in pediatric science, practice, family medicine and education”. The conference participants were greeted by the rector of ONMedU, acad. of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, prof. V. M. Zaporozhan; vice-rector of ONMedU, prof. V.G. Marichereda; member-cor. of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Doctor of Science of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Medical Council of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine O. P. Volosovets; general director of “Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital” P.V. Heorgiev; Head of the Department for Maternal and Childhood Protection of the Department of Health Protection of the Odesa City Council, H. P. Lunyova.
A lot of attention was paid to the formation, development and modern work of the Odesa Pediatric School, which became the Alma Mater for many pediatric scientists of our country.
As every year, a group of researchers from M. Testemitsan State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, led by the leading specialist and head of the pediatric service of Moldova, Professor Ninel Revenko, took part in the conference. Prof. John Lowe from the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences, University of the Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore, QLD, Australia delivered the ceremonial speech in connection with receiving the title of honorary professor of ONMedU
The main scientific vector of the conference was the discussion of topical issues of pediatric care in Ukraine for the further introduction of modern technologies into practice.
Before the conference, a workshop for doctors “Reznikov’s readings – pre-conference” was held. His subject is applied aspects of modern pediatrics and innovative aspects of pediatric practice. 39 reports were made at the pre-conference.
The conference was held in the form of main sectional sessions, the topics of which were prevention, diagnostics, rational pharmacotherapy from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine for pulmonary, allergic, immunological, endocrinological, cardiology, gastroenterological, hematological, infectious, hereditary and metabolic diseases in children.
The scientific and practical session, dedicated to current problems of pediatrics and neonatology, included 31 reports.
A separate day of the conference was devoted to an educational session on the topic – Teaching pediatrics to students of higher education and doctors in continuous professional development, and a poster session, where a total of 30 reports were illuminated.
Thanks to the online format, the conference was watched live on YouTube and viewed on the record more than 7 thousand times.
The participants received answers to their questions, which they asked in chats, passed the test, filled out the questionnaire and are waiting for certificates according to order No. 446 dated 22.02.2019, for 10 points of continuous professional development of doctors.
