A scientific-practical conference of pediatricians and neonatologists took place

On October 28-29, 2021, a scientific-practical conference with international participation “LATEST TECHNOLOGIES IN PEDIATRIC SCIENCE, PRACTICE AND EDUCATION” was held remotely, dedicated to the memory of Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine B. Ya. Reznik.

The conference is held annually by Odessa Association of Pediatricians and Neonatologists with the support of Odessa National Medical University. As always, the preparation of the program and the conference were carried out in close coordination with the Department of Health of Odessa Regional State Administration and the Department of Health of the Odessa City Council.

The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Academician of NAMSU, Professor, Rector of ONMedU Valerii Zaporozhan: “I am very pleased to congratulate all participants of this important event, the high level and status of which has been confirmed for the 13th time by the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The conference is dedicated to the memory of Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine B. Ya. Reznik, who became the founder of the modern Odessa Pediatric School – the leading one in our country. Today Borys Yakovlevich’s work is continued with great enthusiasm and success by his student – Corresponding Member of NAMSU, Professor, Head of the Department of Pediatrics №1 ONMedU, Chairman of Odessa Association of Pediatricians and Neonatologists Mykola Leonidovych Aryaev. At his initiative, the annual conference “Latest technologies in pediatric science, practice and education” is held, which always brings together many participants and listeners. And today’s conference is no exception – almost 50 speakers from different cities of Ukraine and abroad. I express my deep gratitude to Professor Aryaev and all members of the organizing committee for active and fruitful work. I wish you a successful conference.”

The participants of the conference were also welcomed by: the Chairman of the Odessa Association of Pediatricians and Neonatologists, Head of the Department of Pediatrics № 1 ONMedU, Corresponding Member. NAMNU, prof. ML Aryaev, Deputy Chief Physician for Organizational and Methodological Work of the Municipal Institution “Odessa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital” T.M. Pokotylova, Head of the Department of Maternity and Childhood of the Department of Health of the Odessa City Council G.P. Lunyova .

A group of researchers from Mykola Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacology, led by Professor NINEL REVENKO, a leading specialist and the head of the Pediatric Service of Moldova, took part in the conference. Professor John Lowe of the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences, University of the Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore, QLD, Australia gave a distance presentation.

The conference was devoted to the problems of medical care for children and was held in the form of sectional meetings, the topics of which were: prevention, diagnosis, rational pharmacotherapy, optimization of primary pediatric care, emergencies and other relevant issues in pediatrics.

Conference participants were able to improve their knowledge regarding the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 in children, cardiovascular disorders and manifestations of postcovid syndrome in children; deepen knowledge in the identification and management of various allergic conditions in children, the use of antihistamines and more.

The speakers presented the latest approaches in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system in children. The final section highlighted the main issues of modern neonatology.

At the end of the conference, participants were able to get answers to their questions asked in the chat, and fill out a questionnaire of the conference participant to get 10 points BDP, according to the order № 446 from 22.02.2019.
