A regular meeting of the “Discussion Club” took place

On November 11, 2020, the next event “Discussion Club. Challenging Patient Consultation ”on the topic:“ FamilyPlanning: what`snew? ”took place online.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology initiated and has been holding regular discussion meetings on obstetrics and gynecology for domestic and foreign students, where students develop communication skills and patient counseling skills under the supervision of experienced doctors in English. The management of the University, the Training and Production Complex of Innovative Technologies of Teaching, Informatization, Continuing Education and Internal Monitoring of Education Quality of Odessa National Medical University and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology have created all conditions for comfortable communication and exchange of views on the Microsoft Teams platform.

Mastering the English language at the level of free communication occupies a leading position in the strategy of integration of Ukrainian medical students and young scientists into the international scientific community. The ability to participate in discussions, formulate and defend their point of view using modern international medical terminology helps to improve communication skills of future doctors. The opportunity for free online communication on problematic issues was very much liked by the student community and provided inspiration for the next meetings.
