Unity Day at the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine and in the dormitories of ONMedU

On February 16, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Unity for the first time in accordance with the Presidential Decree of February 14, 2022 № 53/20221.

The Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine hosted a general meeting of all the staff, which held events dedicated to combating hybrid threats, advocacy and consolidation of society around the territorial integrity, unity and protection of Ukraine’s independence.

Volodymyr Maidanyuk, the Head of the Department, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, war veteran, who took a direct part in the anti-terrorist operation, Associate Professor, Colonel of the Medical Service, proved that in order to strengthen the consolidation of Ukrainian society, strengthen its resilience in the conditions of psychological pressure on the public consciousness, this day has become one of the cornerstones of the formation of national identity of Ukrainians. He noted that our state is stronger today than ever and that February 16 was not a day of attack, but a Day of Unity – the actual unity of the society! At 10 o’clock the staff sang the National Anthem of Ukraine.

The State Flag of Ukraine was raised in all dormitories of ONMedU.

The administration of dormitories, student activists and foreign students, for whom issues of world order, stability, unity in Ukraine are also very important, were addressed by senior associate professor, colonel of medical service Panchenko O.E. and dormitory educators assistant Kirchev V.V. and Colonel of the Medical Service Basyuk V.S.. The speeches were about the consolidation of society around the territorial integrity, unity and protection of Ukraine’s independence.
