For the Youth Day, which Ukraine celebrates with the whole world on August 12, the International Republican Institute presents the video project “Not Small People”.
A series of short films about Ukrainian youth who radically changed their lives because of the war is offered for viewing. The heroes of the cycle represent different regions, have different histories of change, but all of them are united by a clearly defined civic position — to be citizens of their country, to help it survive and win. They chose different paths for themselves: some joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, some became hospitalists, military medics, and volunteers. Brave and confident, resolute and courageous – real Ukrainians!
“Perhaps, the most apt definition of “Not Small People” is a cure for inferiority, because in this project everyone was able to overcome their fear. Documentary series about all Ukrainians who became the guides of light in the world, which was covered by deep night. About all of us: those who move by touch and those who have a fire to share. I share mine with the belief that our dawn will come soon,” said Kateryna Murovana, the main director of the cycle, about her contribution to the project.
The video project is implemented by the International Republican Institute with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
