The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, together with the State Institution “All-Ukrainian Youth Center” in partnership with the public organization “City of Active Citizens” within the framework of the UNDP projects in Ukraine “Support to Civil Society and Youth” and “Support to Inclusive Recovery for Resilience and Security of People in Ukraine” with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the Government of Japan, respectively, is implementing the program to involve youth in the recovery of Ukraine through the implementation of youth exchanges “VidNOVA:UA”.
The program is aimed at active youth aged 18 to 35 who want to learn more about their country, as well as contribute to its rapid recovery. In 2022-2024, the exchanges reached more than 1,500 participants, thanks to which 52 youth spaces were restored throughout the country. In 2025, youth exchanges will take place in 15 communities of Ukraine in different regions from July to September. For 5 days, participants will live in one of the communities where the restoration site is located and explore its cultural features, communicate with peers from other regions, participate in trainings, workshops and excursions. The program covers accommodation, meals and travel expenses of participants. Previous experience in construction and restoration work is not required for participation.
The program consists of the following components:
Volunteering: involving young people in simple restoration work (plastering, painting, cleaning, etc.) to create a youth space for young people (youth center, space, etc.). — Education: developing knowledge and competencies on the topics of leadership, team building, youth participation, intercultural learning, media literacy, social cohesion.
Cultural program: researching the cultural and historical heritage of the host community, excursions, meeting opinion leaders, workshops.
