Peer Trainers Seminar Series as part of the UkraineDigiTrans Project “Digital Transformation of Medical Education in Ukraine”

Digital Competencies and Innovations in Education: ONMedU is hosting a Peer Trainers Seminar Series as part of the UkraineDigiTrans Project

Odessa National Medical University is actively continuing the implementation of the international project UkraineDigiTrans – Digital Transformation of Medical Education in Ukraine, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program.

As part of the project, the university is hosting a Peer Trainers Seminar Series, which aims to develop digital and pedagogical skills of teachers to improve the quality of medical education in the context of digitalization and global challenges.

On June 12, 2025, the first session of the new series was held, dedicated to the rules for using artificial intelligence in higher education. The training was conducted by Serhiy Marchenko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, who focused on the correct use of generative models in accordance with the level of complexity of the tasks in the educational process.

The next seminars, scheduled for September 2025, will cover the following topics:

Virtual patient as a tool for developing clinical thinking: capabilities of the CASUS, OpenLabyrinth, Moodle platforms;

Intellectual property and digital technologies in medical science and education: legal aspects and recommendations for teachers and researchers;

Telemedicine as a global healthcare system; an overview of the capabilities of Helsi as a medical information system for healthcare institutions and patients;

Effective teacher-student communication: tools for motivation, activation of the educational process, and overcoming resistance to changes in the digital environment.

All trainings take place in a dynamic format and involve interaction between participants, which contributes not only to improving qualifications, but also to the formation of new approaches to teaching and modernization of the educational environment of ONMedU.

The UkraineDigiTrans project confirms the university’s leadership position in the direction of digital transformation of medical education, ensuring the sustainable development of the academic community in the context of European integration and global changes.
