The international conference “Challenges of Psychiatry in Wartime. Protracted Grief Reaction and Depressive Disorder” is underway in Ivano-Frankivsk, the main goal of which is to show that psychiatry in Ukraine today is not only a science, but also a humanistic mission.
The event was organized by the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology of IFNMU under the leadership of Professor Mykhailo Pustovoit with the active participation of foreign experts, in particular Professor Hartmut Berger (Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main), who was solemnly awarded the title of Honorary Professor of IFNMU, within the framework of the traditional summer school of modern German psychiatry.
The conference brought together over 800 experts from Ukraine and the world — thought leaders, teachers and practitioners in the field of mental health, and became a space where solutions for the future of mental health in Ukraine are born.
The forum also includes employees of Odessa National Medical University. Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy Yevhen Oprya and postgraduate higher education seeker of the department Khrystyna Moldavska gave a report “Principles of Comprehensive Neurorehabilitation of Military Personnel with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder”.
