“Open Door Day” was held at ONMedU for two days.
On July 5, a meeting of potential students of Odesa National Medical University with representatives of the institution took place in an online format. The welcoming words of Rector Academician Valerii Zaporozhan and First Vice-Rector Professor Valeriya Marichereda were heard. The deans briefly released information about their faculties, such as “Medicine”, “Dentistry”, “Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy”, and students of higher education of various courses and interns told about student life and studies with the help of interesting videos.
The responsible secretary of the admissions committee, Gennadiy Stepanov, spoke in detail about the features of the 2023 admissions campaign, admission rules, and answered numerous questions of those wishing to master medical specialties.
On July 6, entrants who dream of becoming doctors and their parents were given tours of the University Clinic, the Innovative Educational Simulation Center and the famous Odessa “Anatomic museum”.
Some participants shared their impressions.
According to Anastasiya Petrova, a graduate of the Kyiv school “Optima”, the “Open Door Day” was a useful and interesting event. “I dream of becoming a dentist. I could not make up my mind whether to enter Kyiv or Odesa University. Now there is no doubt – only ONmedU! I really liked the University Clinic: the latest medical equipment, wards, operating rooms, training rooms, and simulation classes! Great employees! They were attentive and friendly to us. They are so proud of their clinic that I wanted to work there!” the girl said enthusiastically.
Svitlana Budylko, a graduate of the Odessa “Leader” lyceum, also wants to enter Odesa National Medical University, so this is not the first time she participates in the “Open Door Day”. “I like how this event is held. I was interested in getting to know the rector, deans, and students, albeit online. I go on excursions with great pleasure. Employees of the department of simulation technologies always welcome us hospitably. Dummies, simulators, workshops and quizzes. This time — training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Very interesting!”, Svetlana notes.
Sofia Nikulina, another graduate of the Odesa “Leader” lyceum, wants to enter the medical faculty of ONMedU, so she is not only a regular participant of the “Open Door Day”, but also a regular visitor to the university’s official website. “I want to know more about university life, so I read news and newspapers on the website. You need to know where you are going to study! And I go on university tours for the same reason. Everything was impressive, especially the anatomical and pathanatomical museums. So many unique exhibits! And some of them were made in different years by students and teachers. It’s amazing!”, – enthuses the potential student.
