According to the agenda, the first vice-rector, Professor Valeria Marichereda, spoke about the vision and experience of ONMedU in implementing simulation learning technologies in the educational process. In 2024, it will be 10 years since simulation learning was introduced at the university. Until 2014, the institution had separate thematic simulation classes based on departments. In 2014, the Department of Simulation Medicine was created, and on its basis the Educational and Innovation Center for Practical Training of Doctors appeared. In 2019, the Center for Preparation for OSCE was established as a separate structural unit. Preparation for the objective structured clinical exam revealed a number of problems with simulation learning, so in 2021, the Department of Simulation Medicine was reformed and the function of structuring simulation learning at the university was added to the powers of the department staff. Today, the organizational structure of simulation training at ONMedU allows every higher education student to master practical skills, acquire general and professional competencies. At the same time, the speaker, Professor Valeria Marichereda, is confident that despite the successes achieved, one cannot be complacent. The next steps are the introduction of augmented reality technologies, virtual reality technologies for mastering individual skills, primarily related to especially dangerous infections and mass damage to the population, as well as virtual reality technologies for simulating remote consulting or telemedicine technologies, into the educational process. In addition, it is planned to create a separate simulation class for mastering telemedicine technologies.
