On March 27, the regular meeting of the Academic Council of Odesa National Medical University was held on the Microsoft Teams platform under the chairmanship of ONMedU Rector Academician Valeriш Zaporozhan, during which a number of decisions related to the activities of the institution were made.
According to the agenda, the Deputy Chairman of the Admissions Committee, Professor Gennadiy Stepanov, delivered a report “Admission to Odesa National Medical University in 2025”. He reported in detail on the rules of admission to the institution, outlined the start and end dates of the admission campaign, and noted its features. Thus, ONMedU offers new specialties and new educational programs, in particular, “Public Health” and “Practical Psychology”. There are also changes in the procedure for admission to postgraduate studies. Admission to the third level of higher education on a full-time basis is only state-financed.
The Academic Council approved the Rules for Admission to ONMedU in 2025, as well as the updated Regulations “On the Admissions Committee of ONMedU” and “On the Educational Center “Crimea-Donbas-Ukraine”.
The members of the Academic Council supported the issue of approving the educational and professional programs: “Practical Psychology” for the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the specialty C4 “Psychology”, “Public Health” for the second (master’s) level of higher education in the specialty I9 “Public Health” and “Pediatrics” for the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education in the specialty I3 “Pediatrics”.
The decision to create a one-time specialized council for the defense of qualification theses for the award of the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy was considered and approved, several important Regulations regulating the educational and scientific processes of the institution were approved, and the next issue of Odesa Medical Journal, two textbooks and three teaching aids developed with the participation of university employees were recommended for publication.
