The MOH reports:
In Ukraine, 2134 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus disease have been recorded – it is a new abysmal record in the number of infected people registered per day.
According to the CSH, as of 9:00 am on August 20, 2020 there are 98 537 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine, including 2184 lethal, 50 441 patients have recovered. During the day, 2134 new cases have been recorded. A total of 1 356 698 PCR tests have been performed. 704 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours.
Currently, coronavirus disease has been detected in:
▪ Vinnytsia region – 3405 cases;
▪ Volyn region – 4929 cases;
▪Dnipropetrovsk region – 1873 cases;
▪ Donetsk region – 1156 cases;
▪ Zhytomyr region – 2597 cases;
▪ Zakarpattia region – 6662 case;
▪Zaporizhzhia region – 1213 cases;
▪ Ivano-Frankivsk region – 7290 cases;
▪ Kirovograd region – 749 cases;
▪City of Kiev – 11 172 cases;
▪ Kyiv region – 4727 cases;
▪ Lviv region – 12 631 cases;
▪Lugansk region – 204 cases;
▪Mykolaiv region – 893 cases;
▪Odessa region – 5408 cases;
▪Poltava region – 594 cases;
▪Rivne region – 8091 cases;
▪Sumy region – 1078 cases;
▪Ternopil region – 4116 cases;
▪Kharkiv region – 6849 case;
▪ Kherson region – 321 cases;
▪ Khmelnitsky region – 1768 cases;
▪Chernivtsi region – 8297 cases;
▪Cherkasy region – 1200 cases;
▪Chernihiv region – 1314 cases.
Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are missing.
The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory and also by regional laboratories. On August 20, 2020, the Centre received 2439 reports of suspected COVID-19. A total of 156 685 COVID-19 suspicion reports have been received since the beginning of 2020.
