MEMORIAL DATES OF MARCH 2022

In these difficult times of war, our state symbols and memorable dates of history have become even more precious, and the desire to expel the last mercenary from our land as soon as possible has become even stronger.

Two very important dates were celebrated in the first half of March.

March 10 – Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine, our national symbol, which is heard during celebrations and official events of national importance, meetings of the Verkhovna Rada, the swearing in of the President, various festive events, sports competitions and more. This work was first performed on the words of Pavel Chubynsky and music by Mykhailo Verbytsky on March 10, 1865 at the end of a concert dedicated to Taras Shevchenko. On January 15, 1992, the music version of the National Anthem was approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as reflected in Article 20 of the Constitution of Ukraine, and on March 6, 2003, the Law on the National Anthem of Ukraine was adopted by President Leonid Kuchma.

March 14 is the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer. This date was approved by the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of January 17, 2017 “On the establishment of the Day of Ukrainian Volunteer”.

Today, this date has become symbolic. From the very beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, thousands of people joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the call of the heart and with the desire to defend their homeland or joined the the Territorial Defense. Volunteers from other countries come to us. Soldiers of the International Legion of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine are in positions to defend our state together with Ukrainian defenders.

Together we are strong!
