The US National Science Foundation (NSF) announces the International Multilateral Partnership for a Sustainable System of Education and Science in Ukraine (IMPRESS-U). Cooperation partners are the Estonian Research Council (ETAG), the Latvian Science Council (LCS), the Research Council of Lithuania (LT), the National Science Center of Poland (NCN) and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchanges (NAWA), the National Research Fund of Ukraine (NRFU), the National US Academy of Sciences (NAS), the US Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG), and private donors and foundations.
The goal of the IMPRESS-U partnership initiative is to support excellence in scientific and engineering research, education and innovation through international cooperation, as well as to promote and stimulate the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the global research community.
NSF invites visionary, ambitious, high-quality collaborative research proposals that address scientific challenges in any area of science, technology, or education to participate in this initiative
Priority will be given to projects that offer:
creative ways of increasing the efficiency and sustainability of international partnership;
effective concepts for training researchers at the international level;
effective and significant contribution to building a modern research/educational/innovation ecosystem in Ukraine.
Researchers from the USA, Ukraine and at least one other partner country (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland) must participate in the proposals. The principal applicant and researcher must be an American university. A group of researchers from Ukraine (at least 2) can receive up to $50,000.
