Interrelations with Foreign Higher Educational Institutions and Research Centers

ONMedU cooperates with medical universities from different continents and countries, the total number of working agreements on cooperation and partnership is 45 with 22 countries of the world. Negotiations about partnership and cooperation with 7 medical, scientific and educational organizations from different countries are going on.

An agreement on assistance in upgrading and modernizing the medical and scientific equipment of ONMedU within the framework of the project of international technical assistance “Providing support in the spheres of health and social services” has been signed with the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TİKA) in Ukraine.

A partnership agreement has been signed with the University Hospital Münster (Germany). From the German side, the talks were headed by Professor Edward Malez – Head of the Department of Pediatric Heart Surgery. Professor Malez visited ONMedU and received the title of aVisiting Professor of ONMedU.

There has been established a contact and cooperation with the European Society of Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM). With the active participation of the rector, academician V.M. Zaporozhan, a collaborative project on the certification training “BLS and Team Trauma Support” under the auspices of the World Health Organization, the Canadian International Surgical Association, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and McGill University (Montreal , Canada) was organized and set up.

A Memorandum on Partnership and Cooperation between ONMedU and the National Center for Maternity and Childhood Protection under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has been prepared.

An agreement with the University of Pardyu (USA) and the University of Chieti-Peskara (Italy) is at the stage of signing.

ONMedU has applied for participation in a joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in cooperation with the Risk Management Agency and the British Medical Journal “Training Initiative to Support Clinical Solution”. 69 participants of the first English-language phase of the project from 27 departments of ONMedU have been registered. As a part of a three-year project, “The British Medical Journal” is creating the Ukrainian portal and offers unlimited access for 3,000 Ukrainian specialists to their resources, which contain more than 1,000 clinical cases, 1,000 online training modules, and cover 80% of the most common pathologies faced by primary care professionals, and secondary care units.

The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between ONMedU and Kaunas University of Medicine has been prepared for signature. The visits of the delegation of the Lithuanian University of Health (LUOZ, Kaunas) to ONMedU and the delegation of the ONMedU leaders to Kaunas were held for the participation in the international conference “The 1st International conference Diplomats for life”.

Negotiations and preparation for signing of a partnership and cooperation agreement between ONMedU and Lublin Medical University (Poland), as well as between ONMedU and the Clinic Berlin Helios (Germany) are going on.

A scientific-practical conference on “New Medical Technologies in Pediatrics and Family Medicine” devoted to the memory of Academician B.Ya. Resnyk was held at ONMedU on April 14-15, 2016.

A vice-rector of ONMedU on scientific and pedagogical (international) activity, prof. V.G.Marychereda participated in the scientific-practical conference with international participation “Endometriosis – the Mystery of the 21st century”, which was held on April 7-9, 2016.

In accordance with the agreement with the University of Vanderbilt (Nashville, Tennessee, USA), ONMedU is a member of the Consortium for the development and use of RED Cap software for systematic preservation and processing of scientific data.

In 2016, ONMedU also participated in USAID projects: the RESPOND project “Improving HIV / AIDS Services among the Most Vulnerable Population in Ukraine”, as well as the Deloitte project (USAID) “HIV Reforms in Action” (the executor is the acting vice-rector of ONMedU on scientific and pedagogical work (on humanitarian education and training), associate professor K.A.Talalaev).

ONMedU collaborates in the Tempus Leadership project and within the framework of the International European Project MEDINE. The tasks of MEDINE, as an association of medical faculties and universities in Europe, are to harmonize the principles of obtaining and evaluating medical education in Europe; development of a system of international recognition of specialties in the field of medical education; introduction of standards for the quality of medical education for Europeans, ensuring transparency and public understanding of the system of medical education; ensuring the connection between the medical education and research activities.

ONMedU cooperates with the Ministries of Health of Ukraine, Poland and Germany within the framework of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on mental health program and participates in the program “Intercultural Determinants of Well-being in Different Working Population in Europe” in cooperation with Nofers Institute of Labor Medicine (Lodz, Poland).

ONMedU participates in the cooperation of the Ukrainian Association of Doctors on noninvasive, endoscopic and laser technologies with the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery.

The rector of ONMedU Academician of NAMS of Ukraine V.M. Zaporozhan is an Honorary Doctor of Vienna University of Medicine (Vienna), Hanoi Medical University (Vietnam), University of Agra, A. Schweizer International Academy of Medicine (Poland), P.Stoyanov Medical University (Bulgaria), Ovidius University (Romania) and other universities.

ONMedU, as a leading institution, provides the work of the Friendship Society “Ukraine-Japan”: academician V.M. Zaporozhan is the chairman of the Presidium from the Ukrainian side. Also, in the reporting period, the Rector of the ONMedU, academician V.M. Zaporozhan received a letter from the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ukraine from the consul of Egypt, Marwa Abdelal Mahmud, with the wishes of strengthening the ties and cooperation between our countries and institutions.

The rector of ONMedU, academician V. M. Zaporozhan is the President of the SO “Association of Obstetricians-Gynecologists of Ukraine”. The public Association “Obstetricians-Gynecologists Association of Ukraine” is a full member of the European Council and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (EBCOG) and the World Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

The Association represents the interests of obstetricians-gynecologists of Ukraine at the world level. Thanks to membership in the EBCOG, the Ukrainian doctors have their representatives in the Union of European Medical Specialists, in which EBCOG is the representation of all the obstetrician-gynecologists of the EU countries in the governing bodies of the European Community.

There were developed, published and presented in the European Parliament “Standards of Quality Assurance of Medical Care for the European Women’s Population” in the field of Obstetrics and Neonatal Medicine, Gynecology, recommended by the EU Public Health Committee to be applied by all EU Member States.

Ukrainian doctors are working to develop and implement a unified all-European medical examination on the specialty Obstetrics and Gynecology; the first (theoretical) part of the exam was held during the EBCOG Congress in Torino (Italy) in May, 2016.

The youth professional association of obstetricians and gynecologists of Ukraine, which has gained full membership in the European Network of Interns in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ENTOG), has been established. 2 intern doctors have received EBCOG-ENTOG grants for internship in leading EU clinics, 2 intern doctors have visited Clinic in Turin as clinical observers.

A master class on the development and adaptation of national protocols and clinical guidelines for the perspective of evidence-based medicine (supported by UNFPA Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Swiss Mother and Child Health Program) has been held.

Within the framework of cooperation with the Mother and Child Health Program, work has been started on the creation of the Ukrainian Association for Simulation Education in Medicine and its implementation in the existing European structures. A seminar has been held (in English) for training teachers under the auspices of EBCOG with the assistance of the Program, with the participation of 28 teachers of various educational and clinical institutions in Ukraine.

SO “Association of obstetricians-gynecologists of Ukraine” together with partners in university clinics in Bonn and Frankfurt am Main have initiated creation of a program of bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Germany (BMG) – Ukrainian-German Partnership in Obstetrics, Neonatology and Perinatal Medicine. Six seminars (5 in Ukraine and 1 in Germany) have been held, with the participation of about 800 domestic experts, internship of 4 doctors from Ukraine at the university clinics in Bonn and Frankfurt paid for by BMG.

As the President of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ukraine, the rector of ONMed U, academician V. M. Zaporozhan takes part in international educational projects: Ukrainian-Swiss Program “Mother and Child Health”, “Women’s Health of Ukraine” “USAID (United States Agency on International Development), Reproductive Health Project in Ukraine – Women’s Health and Family Planning Foundation USAID (United States Agency on International Development), project” Improving the control of alcohol use and smoking during pregnancy in Ukraine “USAID (United States Agency for International Development).
