Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of ONMedU

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Odesa National Medical University is one of the leading departments among medical institutions of higher education in Ukraine. For more than 120 years, the teaching staff has been continuing the traditions of their outstanding predecessors. 4th, 5th, and 6th year medical and international faculties, as well as interns, екфштууі, and graduate students are trained at the department. Today, 55 teachers work here: 23 doctors of medical sciences and 32 candidates of medical sciences. Among them, 18 employees have the academic title of a professor and 16 have the academic title of an associate professor. This is one of the largest specialized departments in the country. For a long time, it was headed by the current rector of ONMedU, Academician Valerii Zaporozhan. It was him who created a modern scientific school of surgical gynecology, gathered leading specialists around him. Since 2016, the department has been headed by Valery Zaporozhan’s student, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ihor Gladchuk.

Now the department is a respected international scientific research center with modern equipment for educational, research and medical purposes.
