On November 24, 2017, the Third All-Ukrainian Cadets -Students Scientific and Practical Conference “National Security of Ukraine: Actual Problems and Solutions” was held on the basis of the Military Academy (Odesa).
Students of Odessa National Medical University, who are undergoing military training under the training program of medical reserve officers at the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine, took an active part in the work of the conference.
At the plenary meeting, the student of the 5th year of ONMedU Olena Tanasiychuk made a successful report on the actual topic “Severity of post-traumatic stress disorder, depending on the type of personality in the participants of the ATO in the Southeast of Ukraine” in the plenary session.
Interesting reports were also made by our students during sectional meetings.
A group of 6th year students of ONMedU and intern doctors conducted a master class for cadets of the Military Academy and all participants of the conference on tactical medicine for rendering premedical aid in emergency and combat services, namely on the battlefield, which is the main guarantee of saving lives of the wounded.
Professional and working skills of managing combat trauma and atraumatic bleeding were demonstrated and mastered on the unique multi-purpose simulators of a patient’s life activity, which the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine of ONMedU is equipped with.
