Participation of ONMedU representative in the program to support Ukrainian scientists in Romania

Members of the ONMedU academic team continue to conquer the scientific world of Europe!

For the second year in a row, New Europe College – Institute for Advanced Study (Bucharest, Romania) has been implementing the program to support Ukrainian scientists in the humanities and social sciences «Sustaining Ukrainian Scholarship (SUS) Fellowship», funded by VolkswagenStiftung (Germany).

In the 2024–2025 academic year, among the program’s fellows was Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences Olena Uvarova, who worked on her project within the walls of one of the leading scientific institutes in Romania.

Associate Professor Olena Uvarova’s scientific interests include the history of international relations of the 19th century, the history of Odesa, and the formation of higher medical education. She presented the results of her research at international conferences and scientific seminars. In addition, the scientist participated in the organization of an international conference at New Europe College, as well as a series of webinars for students and teachers of ONMedU.

Thanks to participation in the academic mobility program, Olena Uvarova increased the level of research competence, processed new source materials and prepared the results for publication. An important achievement was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between ONMedU and New Europe College, which contributes to the expansion of international cooperation of our university.

We congratulate Olena Uvarova and the staff of the Department of Social Sciences (Head – Associate Professor Olha Sikorska) on significant scientific results and wish them further success in professional development and implementation of new international projects.
