ONMedU: a memorial board to Mykhailo Marmorshtein has been unveiled

Odesa National Medical University, with the support of  Odesa City Council, held a ceremonial opening of a memorial board at 48 Ryshelievska Street to Odesa doctor Mykhailo Marmorshtein, who for the first time in the world conducted electrical stimulation of the left and right ventricles in an experiment on animals, created the technology of introducing special instruments into the right and left ventricles through vessels, without opening the chest, as well as an external pacemaker and recorded a cardiogram during stimulation of different parts of the heart. The event took place within the framework of the Ukrainian-American project “Legends of Odessa”, which is dedicated to outstanding figures who lived and worked in our city. The project itself was launched in November 2023. Employees of  ONMedU library took an active part in it under the leadership of director Nataliya Harina. And the executive director was Alex Guttmacher (USA) – a musician, philanthropist, producer of the Ukrainian-American charity project “Unforgettable Flower”, thanks to which Ukraine already has 5 mobile mammographs.
