The Student Scientific Society and the Society of Young Scientists of Odessa National Medical University are actively implementing scientific activities among students

The Student Scientific Society (SSS) and the Society of Young Scientists (SYoS) are active in Odessa National Medical University. SSS consists of 744 1-6 year students engaged in scientific activities. The most active members of the Student Scientific Society form the Council of the SSS and are engaged in the implementation of the plan of scientific activities among students.

The Society of Young Scientists unites all university scientists under the age of 35 inclusive, who have a higher education not lower than the second (master’s) level, and scientists under the age of 40 inclusive, who have a doctorate.

Professor O.H. Yushkovska, the scientific director of SSS and SYoS of the university, reported on the work of the scientific circles of the university departments at the meeting of the Academic Council of ONMedU. She pointed out the departments which, in her opinion, should all the others should look up to: the Department of Urology, Clinical Immunology, Genetics and Medical Biology, Internal Medicine № 2, Microbiology, Virology and Immunology, Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine and Therapy, General and Military Surgery, Internal medicine № 4.

Olga Yushkovska spoke about the participation of SSS and SYoS in events, seminars, workshops, forums, projects of university, national and international scale.

Thus, in September this year, young scientists participated in the Polish-Ukrainian seminar “Doctoral training and development of young scientists in the context of personnel policy of Ukrainian and Polish universities.”

In October, the first seminar of the cycle for young scientists of ONMedU “PhD. Features” took place.

For the 15th year in a row, ONMedU is a partner of Victor Pinchuk Foundation program “ZAVTRA.UA”, which provides opportunities for scholarship holders for individual development, establishing new connections, exchanging experiences and creating projects and initiatives.

Recently, the university joined the All-Ukrainian project “The Best Student of Ukraine”, initiated by AYoPO “Student Republic” and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in order to identify comprehensively developed student youth, stimulate their social activity, promote active life position of students.

Preparations are underway for the annual scientific-practical conference with international participation “Modern theoretical and practical aspects of clinical medicine (for students and young scientists)”, which will take place on April 14-15, 2022 and will be dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of the world-famous cardiac surgeon. who was the first in the world to perform a heart transplantation, Honorary Doctor of ONMedU Christian Barnard.
