Odessa National Medical University has received more applications from entrants for admission compared to last year. Applications end on July 23 at 18:00. This was stated by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Board Eduard Buriachkivskii on the air of TRK Yuzhnaya Volna.
According to Eduard Buriachkivskii, ONMedU is traditionally in high demand among entrants. Even quarantine restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic could not break this trend. “Our university is one of the oldest, with great traditions, teaching experience, international scientific connections and achievements. We productively combine this academicism with modern developments. Odessa Medical University is integrated into the European and world educational space, is a trend among school graduates, “- said the secretary of the admissions committee.
ONMedU recruits for the specialties “Medicine”, “Dentistry” and “Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy”. The number of budget places corresponds to the level of last year: 300 places of the state order for the specialty “Medicine” and 2 places for “Dentistry”. Admissions started on July 14. The staff of the admissions board provided all interested entrants with advice on creating e-offices, submitting applications, etc. “No one was left without our help. As of July 20, we received 100 more applications than last year. At the same time, we are talking about those entrants who have the necessary external evaluation points and were admitted to the competition, “said Eduard Buriachkivskii, adding that the admissions campaign for foreign students will last until November 1 and may be extended due to the epidemiological situation.
For his part, Volodymyr Anisimov, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Secretary of the Admissions Committee and Head of the Crimea-Ukraine and Donbass-Ukraine Scientific Centers, said that for the second year in a row ONMedU is accepting entrants from the temporarily occupied territories. Volodymyr Anisimov emphasized the sufficient number of entrants, in particular from the Crimea, applying for enrollment in the first year.
The university guarantees a place in a dormitory to foreign students, as well as for all willing students from other cities.
