The Department of Robotic and Endoscopic Surgery has resumed thematic improvement in a blended format

From January 25 to 29, 2021, the Department of Robotic and Endoscopic Surgery successfully conducted the first blended thematic improvement (TI) “Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery: offline + online & live surgery”. The trainees who were able to come (4 people) were engaged in simulators and assisted in operations: 4 cholecystectomies, hiatoplasty and PPOM. In the online mode, participants (25 people) watched broadcasts of the same operations and could ask questions. All of them listened to a basic course of lectures on safe cholecystectomy, operations for hernias of the abdominal wall and esophageal orifice, as well as a bonus lecture on modern imaging technologies and robotic surgery. This format of conducting TI is convenient for its flexibility in terms of employment and cost. The department will continue to practice it. Such webinars undoubtedly strengthen the cooperation of Odessa National Medical University with the leading national training center – Center for Surgical innovation, and correspond to the concept of development of our alma mater – the use of simulation and digital technologies.
